As a massage practitioner, my goal is to deliver a therapeutic massage session by using a combination of Swedish, Deep Tissue, and Myofascial Release techniques all within a space that is safe, trauma informed and body positive. The standards of my practice encompass a high level of confidentiality, trust and communication.

As a queer, female, light-skinned person of color, I primarily look to provide inclusive bodywork for communities that I feel are commonly underserved within the wellness community. This includes, but is not limited to:
LGBTQIA
People of color
Sex workers
Artists
Athletes
Service industry workers

I am currently not accepting new clients.

Nicole Pappas

She/her

Nicole Pappas, licensed electrologist and advanced esthetician, was born and raised in NY, residing in Portland, OR since 2017, where she currently runs her own electrology studio. Nicole’s career began in 2003 when she received certification from Christine Valmay International School of Esthetics. Over the years she practiced skin care and massage therapy in New York, New Jersey, California, and Pennsylvania, in a variety of settings from resorts to gyms, day spas to waxing studios, and for the last decade primarily at med spas. In the start of 2022, Nicole shifted her focus solely towards permanent hair removal, attending school at Monterey Bay Institute of Electrology. Following the acquisition of her Oregon state electrology license, Nicole established her studio at Cosmos Collective in Portland.

Nearly 20 years in the esthetics industry has affirmed my specialty in skin care. I want to not only permanently remove any unwanted hair, but it’s important to me that we maintain the integrity of your skin while doing it through choosing the modality that is most appropriate for your skin and hair type. I believe that your treatments should leave you with beautifully hair free skin, even glowing.

When I’m not decimating hair you can find me weaving baskets, hiking with my partner and dog or cuddling my two sweet and sour cats.

Julie Spoth, LMT

She/her

Hello! My name is Julie Spoth, I'm a Licensed Massage Therapist, and Structural Integration Practitioner.

I graduated from The New York Institute of Massage Therapy in Buffalo, NY in 2009 after completing over 1,100 hours of training. Since then, I've been traveling and practicing as an LMT for over 10 years.

In 2019 I completed my training with the NW Center of Structural Integration in Portland, OR. This new bodywork provided me with the knowledge and skill I felt I had been missing in my previous years of practicing massage therapy. Structural Integration has given me a deeper and more integrated understanding that a body with an aligned and balanced structure, will have more opportunity to experience improved functional movement and mobility, without pain.

At Aligned Intention, I am dedicated to supporting people in their physical health and wellbeing through an integrative and intuitive practice of Structural Integration and Massage Therapy. My intention is to address structural problems, limited movement patterns, and to help ease painful symptoms.

Alyssa Black, LMT

She/her

Hi! Alyssa here, intuitive LMT and Blackheart Bodywork is my practice.

Every thing in life has a vibrational quality and this is my primary sense and how I navigate life. I love to dance, not in any formal sense, but freely to music as it literally touches the body through the waves of sound and allows me to release stagnant energy in my body. This is similar to how I function within my practice. I sync up with your vibes (given your body allows), find what is stagnant, and ask it gently to move along.

I trained at East West College of the Healing Arts here in Portland about 14 years ago, got my license shortly after, burnt myself out within 4 years and then let my practice fall by the wayside while I traveled, partied hard and tried to hone in on the boundaries of self.

For the last 2 years now I’ve been back practicing massage full time with a new awareness, a new approach and new love for what I do. My practice is an ever evolving eclectic mix of Swedish, Myofascial Release, Deep Tissue, Thai and Reiki. Central to this is a belief in the wisdom of the body and that healing is at its greatest potential when we prioritizing the nervous system, listen with our hands and let our hearts be our guide.

Andi Gherard, LMT

They/them

LMT #25464

Andi first discovered a passion for bodywork as an industrial bread baker. Watching their coworkers develop acute + chronic work injuries fueled their desire to enter the healing field of bodywork and manual therapy. Their experience as a trained sexual assault and domestic violence advocate directly influences their ability to hold space and offer co-regulation for the emotional shifts that can occur when we address and release the tension held in our body.

Andi’s practice braids together clinical western neuromuscular science and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Their work includes techniques such as deep tissue, Tui Na, myofascial release, trigger point work, silicone cupping, hot stone, and Gua Sha while providing a safe space for trauma relief. Andi enjoys getting the opportunity to connect with people and meet them wherever they are!

Currently accepting Blue Cross Blue Shield, Providence, and Motor Vehicle Accident claims.
